Please reach out to politely state your position on the City’s contracts with Flock and ALPR surveillance. City Council declined to hold a town hall or take our privacy concerns seriously when they renewed/consolidated the Flock contracts in September, so it’s time to make clear that this is a ballot box issue for many residents.

To get ALPR surveillance networks on the May ballot in Carrollton, we have to get out the voters! Online signatures don’t count for this - we need physical, pen-on-paper signatures from registered Carrolltonians to get this on our ballots.

Because the City has not been forthright about these contracts, most people don’t know what these cameras do - if they’ve even noticed them.
Every citizen of Carrollton has an interest in this issue, regardless of political affiliation. It is simply too risky to share all our daily activities with such a wide range of users via such a hackable system. It puts us at risk, it puts our kids’ safety at risk, it puts our home security, our data privacy, and more at risk - and no one in Carrollton was afforded an opportunity to vote on the Flock rollout. We want a vote.
Attend City Council meetings to share your concerns.
Meetings typically take place every other Tuesday, with a Council work session starting at 5:45 PM and the regular meeting beginning at 7 PM. The 7 PM meeting is where constituents have the opportunity to make public comment on non-agenda items or speak to an item on the agenda.
Run for City Council!
Council members in Places 1, 3, 5, and 7 are up for re election in May 2027. Several of them are term limited and must sit out this election before attempting to be re-elected.
